One of the benefits of servicing the Lord is a clear-headed, clear-sighted and peaceful thought process. The Lord not only gives us peace, but he gives us the ability to see things clearly despite circumstances. Consider the following scripture.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – 2 Ti 1:7 KJV
In this scripture, we see that instead of fearful, close-minded and limited thinking, He gives us the Spirit of Power. This Power, (Dunamis) is the explosive supernatural power needed to help you overcome circumstances and situations. He gives us the Spirit of Love. The ability to be kind and gracious to others regardless of the intensity of the situation. Love will cause you to do the right thing by someone despite how they may treat you. He also gave us a ‘Sound Mind.’
Those that are wise with an ear to hear will ‘root’ this scripture in their spirits. They will establish it as an anchor and pillar in their life. They will take comfort in knowing that God gives clarity of thought, clarity of vision and peace of mind even in the most troubling of times.
But the Lord doesn’t just stop there. He has given us the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a Teacher and a Comforter. He will teach you what you need to know in every situation and comfort your mind and heart.
The Holy Spirit teaches what we need to know through many different ways. One of the many ways that He uses is to bring back scriptures to your mind that you have previously heard or read. Once you have read the Word of God or Heard the Word of God preached and yielded to it, scriptures will ‘bubble up’ to your mind in various situations. The Holy Spirit speaks to the core of your being, your spirit man. The Word of God then bubbles up from your spirit man into your conscious thoughts. Learn to be sensitive and recognize when the Holy Spirit is bringing a scripture back to your memory. He is trying to tell you something.
“The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you.” – Joh 14:26 MSG
Perhaps, the Holy Spirit is telling you to pray over a situation until it is resolved. Perhaps, the Holy Spirit is giving you the wisdom and directions to resolve an issue. Perhaps the Holy Spirit is trying to comfort you concerning your concerns. As you develop a stronger yearning to know what the Holy Spirit is telling you, the more that is revealed.
If you keep hearing the same scripture(s) over and over again, or from multiple sources, the Holy Spirit is trying to teach you something that is vital to your life, success, and well-being.
If that were all that the Lord had done for us, that would have been a serious blessing in and of itself! But the Lord did not stop there either.
When the Lord sent the Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, He gave us the ability to know the Truth of the matter. What peace of mind! By listening to the Holy Spirit, you have been given access to the Truth of ANY situation and circumstance. There is no limitation or restriction on Truth! If we pause to contemplate that for a moment, we will discover that the Lord gave us built-in lie detectors! Not just lie detectors concerning people, but also the ability to detect the lies of the enemy regardless of whatever form they may manifest in!
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: “ – Joh 15:26
But wait, there is more! That’s not all that the Lord did for us! The Believer also has the right to know what is going to happen in the future!
“But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” – Joh 16:13 NASB
What a comfort and great peace it is to know things in advance. To be able to prepare, knowing that the Lord has revealed the things that you need to know so that you may be comforted, prepared and avoid as many negative issues as possible.
And with all of that, the Lord still went further! Through the Holy Spirit sent to us, we don’t have to worry about how to create cleverly devised speeches and messages to impress people. We don’t have to spend weeks and months crafting cleverly worded speeches with emphatic embellishments and tweaked nuances. All we have to do is speak the Truth of the Word as the Holy Spirit shows us. What a time-saver!
“And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.” – Luk 12:11-12 KJV
All of these things are available to us as Believers.
When it comes to learning the Word, we recommend taking the time to read the Word to yourself aloud. Or, if you have the capacity, use software or some means to have the Word read aloud to you. When we learn to listen to the Word, it helps grow our faith.
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Rom 10:17 KJV
When we read, listen or interact with the Word, it becomes part of us. When we keep our faith and trust in the Lord, His Word lives on the inside of us.
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you” (John 15:7).
The Living Word becomes embedded in your spirit. Just because a scripture may not be in your active memory, does not mean that it is not there. It is this Living Word which the Holy Spirit brings back to our memory in our time of need.
Our prayer for you this day is that you will..
Have a sound mind, clarity of thought and actions. That you will understand the Truth of all situations and matters. That the Lord’s Power, Love and Sound thinking will replace any fears that you may have. That you may know the things that are to come and position yourself accordingly. That the Word of God is Alive in your life and ever present in and near the surface of your memory.
May God’s Grace Abundantly Reign In Your Life!
