The Royal Wedding

Witnessing the current event of the marriage Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle and the odyssey of the royal family of England is certainly a historic moment.  It speaks to all of the things that the World and the Media enjoys.  It speaks to royalty, romance, drama, and intrigue.  It speaks to the wedding promise and the expectation of this mega event.  Much ado has been made about the bride’s ring and wedding dress. Further, it is fueled by the plethora of conversations swirling about and the merchandising of the royal event.

However, as Christians, as we see this natural event unfold, our thoughts should naturally fall upon the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.  Our thoughts should fall upon the Royalty of our LORD and KING, Jesus Christ.  We too are marrying into a royal family.  Our thoughts should fall upon His undying Love for His Bride, the Body of Christ.

As any bridegroom who looks forward with anticipation to marrying his love, he gives her a token of his promise of marriage. A wedding is not just about to people falling in love in a romantic setting, but it is also a binding legal contract. The engagement ring is given as a down payment or binding Ernest as proof of the intended completion and fulfillment of the marriage promise.

The bride goes through preparation and beautifies herself in preparation to receive her husband.  The groom sets things in order so that he may gladly receive his bride. Their focus becomes on each other instead of any other.  Their priorities and focus have changed in anticipation of the day of marriage.  As we prepare our hearts for marriage to our King, we must turn our attention to focus on Him and forsake all others.  We must forsake all false gods and those things that would detract from our relationship with Him.

People who fall in love and want to marry naturally and intuitively go through that process. As they are ‘in love,’ all other obstacles seem to be irrelevant and are a light thing compared to ‘the joy’ that is set before them when they become one in marriage.

The Bible tells us of the proper attitude that we are to have as we prepare ourselves in expectation of our King and Royal Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.

I will rejoice greatly in the LORD; My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” – Isa 61:10 NASB

He has given us the royal clothes of Salvation and a royal robe of righteousness. He is preparing Himself as we prepare ourselves for Him. Our acts of Faith, trust and hope in Him and the reliance upon the Name of Jesus, sparkle and shine brightly for all to see.

We gladly accept the presence of the Holy Spirit in our hearts as a token (engagement ring) of His Promise.

Now he which establisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” – 2 Co 1:21-22 KJV

With great expectation, we to the Day of Marriage when we will be married to The KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords!

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”  – Rev 19:6-9 KJV

We are happy for all of those that are happy and excited about the royal wedding in England. But our true joy is far, far greater as we look forward with great anticipation to our own Royal Wedding.

An Apostolic and Prophetic View of God’s Process for Personal Growth and Ministry

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

According to the Scripture, Romans 8:28 says- “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”  The questions is, how do all these things work out to our benefit? God is a “God that declares “The End” from “The Beginning”.  However, we must understand that He is also a God of process. There is a process that takes from the beginning unto the end.
