Take a moment to stop and consider your blessings. As much as things may seem difficult, complicated or aggravating in your life right now, they could have been much worse. The truth is that we have much to be grateful for. We should always count our blessings!
If we truly stop to count our blessings, we must realize and appreciate the One who gave us these blessings. We must stop to give honor and praise to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who has so richly given them to us. We would dare to say that, Appreciation is one of the most underrated and understated manners. Not only when it comes to the things of God but also as comes to our customs in life.
It is so easy to receive nice things or have someone be nice to you without taking the time to realize that they, just as easily, could have been cruel. Rudeness, un-appreciativeness and the lack of common courtesy can short-circuit many potential blessings. What person is there that isn’t somewhat pleased, to receive a “Thank You’ when they have done something nice for someone? Our Lord is the same way. He enjoys receiving a ‘Thank You” when He has done something nice or unexpected for us.
It really comes down to having the right heart, manners and a habit of courtesy. It should be a habit to respond with appreciation. This requires discipline. It also requires an understanding that graciousness is not a weakness but rather a strength. Let’s not complain about what we don’t have, but rather let’s be thankful for that which we have. Whether we are responding to God in appreciation or to people, the concept is the same. Having a Heart of Appreciation is a must to receive the maximum blessings that can be extended towards you. Whether it is in the workplace, in the marketplace, at home or even at church, appreciation is always appreciated.
It is interesting to note, that when someone takes the time to stop and say ‘Thank You’ when you have done something nice for someone, that it warms your heart towards them. It makes you feel more inclined to help them in the future. And when they don’t, you take mental notice, and there seems to be an ever so slightly negative ‘Hmmppph!’ in your spirit!
It is always amazing to us, how many times we can hold a door open for a stranger and how many don’t bother to say “Thank you”’. Such a simple courtesy is extended, and such a little effort is required to respond appropriately. It is amazing to us how many times we have gone out of our way to help people who never bothered to respond with appreciativeness. Fortunately for us, we know that our reward comes from God and not from man.
But when it comes to the things of God, we don’t want the Lord to respond to us with a “Hmmmppph” when we pray and ask Him for things because we had an unappreciative attitude on our part. We must learn to give Him the Praise and Honor due to Him.
Let us make it clear, that we should worship God in appreciation of Who He is and not what He has done. He is God alone and Sovereign. And that fact by itself makes Him Worth of all Praise regardless of what He has done for us.
“God is a spirit. Those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” -Joh 4:24 GW
But, we also are very, very thankful and appreciative of all that He has done for us! His Grace, the undeserved Favor, that He has given and continues to extend towards us is mind-blowing. His Mercy and Kindness towards us even in the face of our foolishness is equally mind-blowing. The level of Love that He has given in His plan of Redemption towards humanity is unfathomable. And when you stop to think about these things really, how can you not have a Heart of Appreciation? How can you not give Glory and Honor to Him? How can you not give Him praise?
Again, whether the situation is with God or with man, we should respond with the proper response of Appreciation. The next time that someone does something nice for you take the time to say ‘Thank You.’ If they have given you a gift, take the time to give them a ‘Thank You’ card. The next time God does something nice for you or perhaps that you did not expect, take the time to say ‘Thank You.’ We don’t have a big enough Thank You card to give the Lord, but we can give Him our praise! We can give Him Honor & Glory due to Him because He is the KING of kings and LORD of lords!
In the book of Revelation, one could say that they have a ‘Revelation’ of who God is and their response is appropriate and appreciative:
“Then I heard the voices of many angels, the four living creatures, and the leaders surrounding the throne. They numbered ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands times thousands.
In a loud voice they were singing, “The Lamb who was slain deserves to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise.”
I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea. Every creature in those places was singing, “To the one who sits on the Throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever.” -Rev 5:11-13 GW
And by the way, should you feel that you don’t have any reason to be currently thankful, the simple fact that you are alive and God has allowed you to have the physical ability to read this post is a very good place to start!

An Apostolic and Prophetic View of God’s Process for Personal Growth and Ministry
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
According to the Scripture, Romans 8:28 says- “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” The questions is, how do all these things work out to our benefit? God is a “God that declares “The End” from “The Beginning”. However, we must understand that He is also a God of process. There is a process that takes from the beginning unto the end.
