Lately in the news there has been a lot of turmoil concerning the issues of immigration. We hear the stories of the trials and tribulations of people trying to enter or leave various countries. It comes down to a question of rights, legal acceptance, and ramifications. The essential point is whether the government of a country will except those that are trying to get in and whether they should be accepted as citizens.
At the bottom of the issue is about the legality of it all. When people enter a country and become citizens legally, they are entitled to all the rights and privileges as a citizen of that country. For a person to successfully enter a country legally, they need two things. They need a visa and a passport.
A visa is basically a legal document or statement from a government stating that someone is eligible and has permission to enter their country.
A passport is a document or a statement issued by the government that is proof that someone is indeed a citizen of their original country. Passports must bear the official stamp or seal as proof that they have not been forged.
We have good news for you! Your Heavenly visa has already been issued! You are invited to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. You are invited to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior!
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” -Rom 10:13 KJV
“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” – Psa 34:8 KJV
And if you accept Jesus Christ as Lord, you have been accepted into the Kingdom of Heaven! You are issued citizenship immediately upon believing Jesus is Lord, in your heart and confessing Him your mouth. There isn’t even any waiting in line!
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” – Rom 10:9 KJV
The issuance of your citizenship and your passport is instantaneous!
“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” -Col 1:12-13 KJV
The proof of your citizenship is the fact that the Word of the Lord becomes written and you stamped upon your heart.
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:” -Heb 8:10 KJV
“God establishes us, together with you, in a relationship with Christ. He has also anointed us. In addition, he has put his seal of ownership on us and has given us the Spirit as his guarantee.” -2 Co 1:21-22 GW
As citizens of the Commonwealth of Heaven, you are entitled to a great many benefits. In addition to salvation and eternal life, there are many great and exceedingly precious promises available to you in this lifetime. As legally authorized citizens, we have the right to believe God for the manifestations of His promises in our lives.
“According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” -2Pe 1:3 KJV
“By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.” -2 Pe 1:4 AMPC
“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” -Act 2:39 KJV
Being citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven means that our allegiance belongs first and foremost to our King, Jesus Christ and to Heaven. Our responsibility includes properly representing our King and country in every situation. The laws and rules of the Kingdom of Heaven should always take precedence over the locale you may find yourself in.
And as citizens of the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven, we must always remind ourselves that we are but temporary visitors in this current world. Yes, this world has it demands upon our attention along with its varying degrees of trials and tribulations, but we must always remember these simple words when temptations and issues arise…
“This too shall pass.”
Seeing as we but visitors here and our permanent residence is in Heaven, we should learn to develop an eternal mindset now. Let the issues that try to disturb your peace roll off you, like water off of the back of a duck. They are just a minute blip on the screen compared to eternity. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Endeavor to keep your mental and spiritual focus right. Apostle Paul says it like this..
“Dear friends, since you are foreigners and temporary residents in the world, I’m encouraging you to keep away from the desires of your corrupt nature. These desires constantly attack you. Live decent lives among unbelievers. Then, although they ridicule you as if you were doing wrong while they are watching you do good things, they will praise God on the day he comes to help you.” -1 Pe 2:11-12 GW
“I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! “ – Php 3:14-15 MSG
Like Apostle Paul, let’s endeavor to keep our focus right. Let’s keep our mind focused on eternity. Let us continually remember that we are the legally authorized citizens of Heaven. We have received our Heavenly visas along with our stamped passports showing proof of citizenship.
Let us keep our hearts focused what really matters…. Jesus Christ – our King, our Heavenly country and eternal home along with our divine citizenship.
For King And For Country.
